Renate Müller Seal Toy Object 1970s

Therapeutic toys Seal manufactured and designed by Renate Müller in the 1970s in the GDR. The toys are handmade from ecologically acceptable materials in typical use of jute and colored leather. This makes these animals age quite characteristically and they have already been exhibited at the Moma in New York City. Renate Müller developed high-quality childrens toys in cooperation with doctors and therapists in the GDR. She later on worked with small series and even more valuable materials, making the toys being dealt at high prices. The robust toy animals from Müller”s manufactory are now traded worldwide. The older toys are in great demand among collectors, museums and especially in the United States. Müller is influenced by the Bauhaus and natural materials.
