Pierro Fornasetti Jellyfish Orange Tray 1960s

This huge tray was designed by Piero Fornasetti and manufactured in Italy in the 1960s. Made of lacquered metal, it exemplifies the distinctive graphic style and thematic eclecticism that characterized Fornasetti’s work in the mid-20th century.

The tray is oval with a raised rim and is finished in orange lacquer or enamel with two handles. Its central motif features an arrangement of jellyfish and has a very futuristic design, very untypical for Fornasetti. The back bears the original printed Fornasetti studio stamp with the hand and brush logo and the inscription “Fornasetti Milano Made in Italy.”

The tray is in exceptionally good vintage condition.
