Marcel Breuer S64 Cantilever Chair Thonet Set of four

The S 64 cantilever Armchair are a the most famous tubular steel classics from the Bauhaus era.  Designed by Marcel Breuer with seat and backrest made of bent solid beech wood. These set of four S64 chairs with armrest come with a wickerwork seat and back. The chairs are in very good vintage condition, marked with Thonet sign underneath and was produced in 1981.
Marcel Breuer created many of the 20th century’s most influential, award-winning design classics. He ran the Bauhaus carpentry shop in Germany from 1925 to 1928 and began working with metal after moving to Switzerland in 1932.  After training in architecture in London and New York, he opened his own design studio in the US.
