Fabricius and Kastholm Sofa FK 6720 Kill International 1970s

Jorgen Kastholm & Preben Fabricius three seater sofa made in very soft patinated aniline leather and is based on a steel frame. The sofa was manufactured by Kill International in the 1970s. This sofa embodies a solid construction that is established by clear, sharp lines and vivid geometrical shapes. The way the steel frame is executed, gives the overall unit an open and light character. The leather shows very little patina and signs of age and use, both of which add to the sofa’s unique value. This sofa breathes Scandinavian design all-over, due to its minimalistic character, combined with comfort and architectural aesthetics.  Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) became friends in the 1950s at the School of Interior Design. In the 1960s they started a collaboration. Although they have worked also individually, it is as a pair that they have achieved their greatest success. During the eight years of partnership they managed to create a wide selection of very high quality designs. The results were often minimalistic and functional designs in steel, glass and leather. Most of the furniture of the Danish designer duo was produced by the German manufacturer Kill International.
