Beate Kuhn Calabash Organic Vase 1960s

Beautiful early work by the famous German ceramic artist Beate Kuhn designed in the 1960s. The vase is made of blue, green, olive and black glazed ceramic in an abstract calabash shape. In addition, two eyes can be seen in the upper area that seem to lead into a face and the unusual abstract relief painting makes the small vase look like a human sculpture. Marked on the base with the workshop mark K (incised), on the wall above the edge of the base marked with a spiral (stamp).
