Aldo Tura Round Dining Table Cream Goatskin Italy 1970s

Aldo Tura dining table in sand-colored lacquered parchment with bar compartment in the center including a brass handle and a removable plastic inlay. The table top is based on hexagonal beech wood base also covered with goatskin, which gave him a sculptural look. Signed underside TURA milano italia and in excellent Vintage condition.

Along with artists like Piero Fornasetti and Carlo Bugatti, Aldo Tura (1909-1963) definitely belonged to the mavericks of Italian design. Where as the former chose abundant figurative decorations as his hallmark, Bugatti and Tura focused on applying a specific material. Tura founded his workshop in Milan in 1939 and the company has been in operation ever since.
