Mario Bellini Area Wall Ceiling Lights Set of Six Italy 1974

Designed by legendary architect Mario Bellini for Artemide in 1974, this exceptional pair of “Area” wall or ceiling lights is a true hallmark of Italian 1970s avant-garde design. This versatile, sculptural model strikes a perfect balance between organic forms and industrial innovation. Its defining element is the wave-like, textile-reinforced synthetic parchment shade, which mimics the delicate drape of a handkerchief or an opening flower to diffuse a soft, ambient glow. Mounted directly to the wall or ceiling, the fixtures feature a minimalist ceramic gray cylindrical housing that nests neatly against the surface. Designed to be paired with silver-crowned (mirror-top) bulbs, the light reflects back onto the fluid folds, accentuating their three-dimensional, artistic quality—making this pair a stunning focal point for any modern interior. The lamps exist in two version of height. Totally are six lamps available. The lamps are in good vintage condition with little marks of usage.
